Forever in our hearts, Sir Elton

For almost two months, Sir Elton has been very sick. After running numerous tests,  he was finally diagnosed with colon cancer; a cancer that was getting increasingly worse and painful for him.

We had to make the very difficult, heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to our little friend this week.

Sir Elton was a regal, royal, proud cat. He was beautiful, unique and friendly – in his own independent way. He enjoyed watching television, bird watching and sleeping on the plush blanket.

Elton was the gift I never knew I needed until I met him. Apart of me died with him. But I wholeheartedly believe his warmth stays with us, and his spirit lives on.

You will be forever in my heart, Sir Elton. Not a day in my life will go by that I won’t think of you. Thank you for spending this time with us, with me. I love you.

“I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep. I could see that you were crying, you found it hard to sleep. I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear. ‘It’s me, I haven’t left you, I’m well, I’m fine, I’m here.’” (“I Walk with You,” author unknown)

  3. Oh my, Emily. I can just imagine your grief after seeing these loving images of Sir Elton. Thanks for sharing your loss but also the wonder of him to your family. I especially love the last image with your mom and dad!

    1. It feels just like yesterday we took that picture, Ginnie. It is crazy how time just slips away and we have to say goodbye to our dear friends.

  4. Dear Elton will be truly missed. He touched many hearts during the time he spent with us.

    1. He did touch our hearts, and made a house a home. I feel blessed to have had him in my life, even for this short while.
