Squamish, British Columbia (Pt. 2)

Squamish, British Columbia has to be one of my new favourite town in Western Canada. With the smoke from the wildfires, we were lucky to have experienced Squamish.

Squamish located at the north end of Howe Sound on the Sea to Sky Highway. Also, the Sky Pilot Sea to Sky Gondola (100 metres/328 feet) is a great way to be an adventurer –  with awesome views, accessible trails and year-round, and its suspension bridge.

This town has a long and unique history with the Sasquatch, or otherwise, the legend of the Te Smailetl by the Squamish first nations. According to Squamish Adventure, “The men [are] exceedingly tall, had a strong sense of smell and were great hunters. They dressed in garments made from the untanned skins of the animals they had slain and because of this the Squamish people called them the Te Smailetl, or wild people.”

  1. I’ve always thought of Canada as having unbelievably grandiose places like this, Emily. How good that you get to visit more and more of them as time marches on!
